Dancers (in alphabetical order)

Caroline (centre) at Elder Stubbs Fete

Caroline - original member of Nova, Isis and Hathor. Caroline has been dancing for many years and now regularly writes our choreographies.

*****

Fiona

Fiona - one of the founder members and Hathor's Webwoman: has been dancing since 1994. Other hobbies are writing, archery and collecting shiny jewellery. Former columnist for Mosaic magazine, Fiona has taught a series of dance classes in Oxford, with Gail's able assistance.

*****

Gail

Gail - one of the founder members. Has been dancing for a few years and also collects big jewellery, is a mythology junkie and loves anything that glitters (so is very attached to the rest of the troupe). Taught evening classes in Oxford with Fiona.

*****

Jackie

Gail waved sequins at Jackie to lure her onto the stage with Hathor at a party in 2002. She hasn't been able to escape our clutches since.

*****

Hazel - (no picture yet) recently rejoined Hathor after a long break.

*****

Janet at CRC 2002

Janet - one of the founder members and probably the best MC in the business. Has been dancing since 1993, speaks many languages, including Arabic, and has travelled to the Middle East on a number of occasions, collecting ethnic costumes en route. She is also seen on telly from time to time, in her other role as a scientist.

*****

Karen

Karen - one of the founder members. Although she has been dancing since 1995, Karen still regards herself as a student.   ‘This dance has been around for a very long time and there's still so much to learn!' she says.  To this end Karen attends workshops whenever possible with visiting international teachers.   ‘This lovely dance of ours embraces all styles and there's room for all levels of dancer ~ I see it as my mission to get everyone on their feet to give it a go at least once!!'

Lisa at Dance for Wildlife 2007

Lisa joined Hathor recently and has already made her disco influence felt!

*****

Mandy at Elder Stubbs Fete

Mandy - one of the founder members, Mandy has been dancing for many years.

*****

Tracey at Dance for Wildlife 2007

Tracey - started dancing years ago, but kept losing ballroom and latin American dance partners, and thought belly dance would be a better way to strut her stuff and show off her individuality (and the costumes and props were better). She badgered members of Hathor to let her join in 2002, making her performance debut later that year, and Hathor Hafla debut in June 2003. She knows a bit of Arabic and is generally interested in Middle Eastern and Asian cultures, travelling as much as she can, although she hasn't yet made it to Egypt....

THE ONES YOU WON'T SEE IN SEQUINS

Hathor would not be able to perform, run events or party quite so extravagantly without the dedicated help of our lovely men, particularly Jeremy, Geoff and Sean.
